Sleep encompasses multiple dimensions, each potentially contributing independently to our health and well-being. Here we investigate WHAT sleep/circadian components could serve as predictors or targets for patient treatment? HOW might targeting different sleep/circadian components affect neurobiology and behavior in patients with psychiatric disorders?
Sleep is dynamic, changing with the disorder's progression, seasonal fluctuations, developmental stages, diverse environments, and across the lifespan. WHEN is the best time for patients to receive treatment? It may be necessary to accordingly tailor treatments and strategize the treatment plan.
Not everyone responds the same way to treatments. We frequently see individual variations in how treatments work. Can we identify WHO might benefit most from specific sleep/circadian interventions and offer personalized treatment?
